We made some sauerkraut yesterday.50lbs of cabbage gave us a five gallon bucket full.

This is a sauerkraut knife and it's really sharp! It turns a cabbage into this.......

Shredded Cabbage

Then you stomp or tamper....means the same,3 tablespoons of coarse salt to five lbs of cabbage.

Juices are starting......

mmmmm I can almost taste it...love the stuff :)

We'll check  in a week to see how the fermenting is coming along.
