Monday Mania!!

When you own a small farm there's no such thing as "taking the weekend off" but we did manage to sneak away for a couple hours and the farm was still here when we got back! Having said that a punctured tractor tire can not be fixed on a Sunday!

So,it's Monday mania!! Tire is at the shop...Geof is at the building....almost done!!

Turkeys are booked in for Wednesday,they are looking fabulous!

My new motto is,"Less is More"

Meat Kings are doing well also,another week or so and they'll be ready:)

I have one more bag of crab apples to cook for jelly and I'm done!

Then on to some grape jelly as soon as our friends Concords are ready.

You'll be next!! lol

This is the time of year that I look forward to.Kids head back to school(not anymore for us),the smell of canning all through the house, crickets driving me crazy,turkeys are gobbling and the pumpkins are plump! I wish I could pause September!

Summer Fun

My nephew Devon and family were home for a visit from Manitoba and we had a family gathering at our place.

September!!!!

Here it is September.It's been a crappy summer.....weather wise.Too much rain and not enough sun in my opinion.
Making a few pickles and jelly.Don't feel like going into any details of our growing season,did well with the strawberries,beans and peas.Meat birds and turkeys are doing really well,had a few of the hens that I hatched up and die for no apparent reason:( Pumpkins and squash are doing well.

This is what Geof has been up to the last month......taking this building down and when he's finished bringing it here to put back up!
